The Department of Psychology at H.D. Jain College, Ara is a well-established academic unit dedicated to exploring the scientific understanding of human behavior and mental processes. Functioning under the umbrella of H.D. Jain College, a renowned institution founded in 1942 and affiliated with Veer Kunwar Singh University, the department has played a pivotal role in shaping generations of psychology students.

The department has been offering the Undergraduate (B.A.) programme in Psychology since the college’s inception in 1942, making it one of the foundational disciplines of the institution. Expanding its academic offerings, the Postgraduate (M.A.) programme was introduced later, with the first batch commencing in the session 1984–1986.

The academic curriculum encompasses a broad spectrum of psychological topics, including:

General Psychology

Developmental Psychology

Social Psychology

Abnormal Psychology

Counseling Psychology

Research Methodology and Statistics
